This is a good book for understanding why eating fat is good for you. Mark Hyman covers a lot of studies in this book and covers nutrition in depth. He has a plan in the book with foods you should eat and supplements. Additionally there are low carb and keto recipes included. Mark Hyman mostly focuses on a balanced whole food diet and avoiding processed and high glycemic foods.

Authors Jimmy Moore and Eric Westman, M.D.

Jimmy Moore is a popular podcaster with multiple top ketogenic and nutrition podcasts. I like his delivery of humor it helps make the book move faster as he covers the facts. Jimmy lives and breaths keto. He is very informative on ketone testing and intermittent fasting.

The Obesity Code: Unlocking the Secrets of Weight Loss
Authors Dr. Jason Fung and Timothy Noakes

I'm just finishing this book and I can't recommend this book enough. Jason Fung clearly states the case that obesity is a hormonal problem to solve. He is also very sarcastic and witty at times and this helps keep the book moving. The book focuses on insulin resistance, lowering insulin responses, and dealing with cortisol (commonly referred to as "The Stress Hormone").

Author Abel James

One of my favorite podcasters (Fat Burning Man). Abel was on ABC's My Diet is Better Than Yours with runner up, Kurt Morgan. The Wild Diet is primary focused on eating good healthy foods although within balance of the occasional treat. Abel talks about intermittent fasting and "feasting."

My favorite keto book is the Keto Reset Diet. I first learned of Mark Sisson from the Primal Kitchen products (tasty and healthy!) and the Primal Blueprint (a Paleo diet book). The book is really well structured and explains keto in detail. Additionally it has guidelines and quizzes to help newcomers to ease into a keto lifestyle.
